Many people look forward to a trip to beautiful Niagara Falls. I am too. But let's face it: I've seen Victoria Falls in Zambia and Iguazu Falls in Brazil, so I'm more than just a bit jaded. I was more interested in Lily Dale, New York.

Have you ever watched an episode of Medium or Ghost Whisperer on television? Have you seen the movie, “The Sixth Sense”? Remember the line, “I see dead people”? Well, some people actually do claim to be mediums: in contact with dead people. In fact, there's a whole town of them: the town of Lily Dale, New York. Lily Dale is the largest center for the religion of Spiritualism.

I believe in God and I'm a very spiritual person. I'm also a very intuitive person. But I am not a Spiritualist, nor do I profess to follow any organized religion as of this writing. Still I've always been curious about it.

Some people spend their whole lives studying the Civil War, Airplanes and other things as a personal hobby. Since 1980, I've spent free time reading books about (1) physical mediums like Leonora Piper, Osborne Leonard and Daniel Dunglas Home, (2) channelers like Jane Roberts, Lee Caroll and Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, and (3) modern mediums like Alison Dubois, James Van Praagh, and John Edward. Lily Dale is very fertile soil for the study of such things.
